What is a Chiropractic Neurologist?

Chiropractic Neurologists are board-certified in neurology and provide the same manner of consultation as a medical neurologist but offer treatments that do not include drugs or surgery.

What type of case is a good referral to a Chiropractic Neurologist?

The typical person referred to our office is someone looking for solutions to their healthcare needs that do not involve drugs or surgery.

What is a subluxation?

A subluxation is a term used to describe a vertebrae that is decreased in its normal motion. Subluxations can occur in most joints in the body, not just the spine. Chiropractors are trained to identify subluxations and apply the skilled procedure of the adjustment to correct them.

Should I tell my medical doctor I am seeing a Chiropractic Neurologist?

Absolutely. Providing excellent healthcare is a team effort. We often work closely with our patient’s medical doctors to keep them informed about our treatments as well as to coordinate treatments for the best possible outcome for the patient. A Chiropractic Neurologist can be a valuable part of your healthcare team.

Once you go to a chiropractor, don’t you have to keep on going?

In our opinion, once you see how healthy you become under Chiropractic care, you choose to keep coming. This is entirely your choice. Chiropractic Neurological care allows your brain and body to function at the highest level possible. Therefore, many people seek regular Chiropractic care as part of their health care regimen.

What is the “popping” or “cracking” sound during the adjustment?

Chiropractors adjust the vertebrae (bones in your back) and when that happens occasionally you will hear a “cracking” noise. This noise is caused by gases that shift in between the joints when they are adjusted. The same thing occurs when people “pop” their knuckles. There is no significance to the sound.

Does it hurt to get adjusted?

No. Before your adjustment, muscle massage and other muscle relaxing techniques are applied to lessen the amount of pressure applied in your adjustment. Force is never used during an adjustment and the patient is talked through every step of the adjustment. We work within your comfort level.

Can children and seniors get adjusted?

Children lead physically active lives; falls or injuries from sports or the activity in the course of their day can bring on soreness, back or neck pain. Chiropractic care can help facilitate healing, promote a healthy nervous system, and boost your child’s immune system. Other conditions that can be improved through chiropractic care include ear infections, bedwetting, asthma, allergies, and infantile colic.

Seniors can also improve their health and well-being through chiropractic care. Regular care provides seniors with pain relief, increased range of motion in the spine and limbs, and decreased joint degeneration. Additionally, improvements in balance and coordination through chiropractic care help lower the incidence of falling. Best of all, chiropractic care is natural and drug-free, which eliminates the risk of over-medicating as well as any side effects due to a combination of prescription drugs.

Can I see a chiropractor if I am pregnant?

Getting adjustments during pregnancy is one of the most important things you can do for yourself and your baby. Chiropractic care provides a non-invasive way of treating conditions that are associated with additional weight and stress being placed on the expectant mother’s frame including sciatica, lower back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shoulder tension and headaches. Chiropractic can also help ease labor and delivery. If your pelvis is in the proper position, back labor is less frequent and your chance of having a breech presentation is reduced. If your baby is in the breech position, gentle chiropractic care can help by repositioning the pelvic bones, which allows the baby to turn naturally and on its own into the proper birthing position.

Can Chiropractic Neurology help my special needs child?

Chiropractic Neurology offers a non-pharmacological, non-invasive approach to helping children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Tourette’s, learning disorders, cerebral palsy and other neurological disorders. Chiropractic Neurologists specialize in analyzing the differences between the hemispheres of the brain, determining the source of your child’s neurological imbalance and restoring brain balance using individualized holistic therapy. Our non-invasive, non-drug therapies like neurofeedback can help your special needs child reach his/her maximum potential without a lifetime dependence on prescription medication.

How can Chiropractic Neurology help my vertigo?

With every patient, regardless of their condition, we perform a thorough history and physical examination. This methodology allows us to assess how a particular individual’s brain functions. We work to improve the function, correct the cause, and subsequently reduce or eliminate the symptoms. There are many causes of vertigo. During your examination, we determine the causation and come up with an appropriate treatment!

Do you accept insurance plans?

We are out-of-network providers with all insurances. As a courtesy to our new patients, our office staff will gladly call your insurance company to verify what your insurance plan offers and file the appropriate claims for you. In most cases, insurance companies do cover our services.
